CPS Patharkandi Alumni Association committed to serve the society
Patharkandi, 21st January, 2023: With an aim to pay back to the society and the alma mater, hundreds of alumni of Central Public School, Patharkandi assembled here to formally constitute the CPSP Alumni association for the purpose of rendering their services to the alma mater, students and the community at large. The programme started with the welcome address by Mr. Dahar Uddin Khan, a senior alumnus of the school which was followed by an open interactive session, where the members shared their experiences, feelings for their alma mater, and also the commitment with which they are eager to contribute for the welfare of the society.
Established in the year 2008, the Central Public School, Patharkandi, a leading CBSE affiliated school in Barak Valley and promoted by ERD Foundation, the largest institutional network in the North East Region, has been catering quality education, since its inception, especially to those belonging to remote and underprivileged areas of the valley. During these years, the school has produced several hundreds of alumni who are either well established in their professional careers or pursuing their higher education in the premier institutions of the country, which also includes different Medical Colleges of north and other parts of the country, where in a good number of alumni are presently pursuing their MBBS courses.
In the daylong meeting, a series of discussions have been made on taking up numerous welfare activities including providing scholarship to the poor and meritorious students of the school and other underprivileged families. Mr Mahbubul Hqoue, Chairman ERDF and Chancellor USTM, has applauded the great step taken by the alumni of CPSP in fulfilling the commitment to the society and their alma mater. While conveying his greetings and best wishes to all the alumni of the school, he said, “ERDF institutions not only impart quality education to the students but also provide a unique culture of inculcating human values in them while they are studying in the institutions, so that when the students pass out, they can give back to the society and fulfil the aspirations of the people”, and the noble initiative taken up by the alumni of CPS Patharkandi is a live example. Mr Hoque has assured to provide all guidance and support towards fulfilling their objectives. As such, he has donated an amount of Rupees 5,00,000/- (Five Lakh) to the Association as a Corpus Fund, with assurance of extending further support in the coming days so that they can continue their services for the societal cause.
After seeing the enthusiasm, commitment and especially the emotional attachment with their alma meter, Dr. AH Barbhuiya, Academic Director, ERDF, expressed his high appreciations to all the alumni present over there. Expressing his full confidence on the leadership and dynamic ability of the alumni, he said “this newly formed CPSP Alumni association will soon gain strength and momentum and evolve as a pioneer just like its parent body, the ERD Foundation and it will surely dedicate full effort towards the vision of its alma meter. He also wished that the association will go long way in extending services to not only in the Barak Valley but also across the country in the service of humanity. He, has assured his full support and guidance to the Association and encouraged them to go ahead with the cause.
Mrs. Hira Moni Saikia, Principal, CPS Patharkandi thanked all the alumni for this noble initiative and assured that the school management will provide every possible support to the alumni association towards fulfilling its objective. The meeting ended with vote of thanks offered by Mr Albab Hussain, a founding batch alumnus of the school.
